The announcement was to inform about the new updates brought by the YouTube community to improve the user experience for TV screens, game consoles, and other streaming devices.

The post intriguingly shared about the new features and latest updates brought by the YouTube team. The prime focus was to enable ‘Voice Search’ on mobile devices even when the mobile app is casting with the smart TV.

The Voice Search enables users to search for anything on TV and gaming consoles through the mobile app. The feasibility of voice searching on the mobile app will allow users to watch anything on TV or any other streaming device.

The update is available for both iOS and Android devices.

With locus on improving user experience, YouTube has also imparted new features in the mobile app to give more control to its users.

New Updated Features

  • The navigation menu for the mobile app gets an update that now displays on the left side of the screen. With this update, it will be easier for users to access the menu items and switching between different accounts.
  • “Who’s Watching,” a new feature for YouTube app that allows users to switch between different profiles that is linked to the device you are using. If there are several YouTube profiles linked on your device, it much easier for each member to access their own personalized profile. Besides, it will be easier for users to catch up with the content of their own interests.
  • Another exciting update is for gaming consoles PS4 and PS4 Pro. Now, users can watch YouTube in HDR mode on gaming consoles. And that also including more vivid colors and contrasts.

Furthermore, earlier this year, YouTube launched its official app on Amazon Fire TV devices. The Fire TV app allows users to access the whole library of YouTube video content, including every niche.

“Additionally, with the latest update, YouTube Fire TV app also works with Alexa, making it easier than ever to watch all your favorite YouTube videos on Fire TV.”

– says Google Employee Hazel, on the community blogpost.
